Choose the correct collection point
In Hintertux, your reservation should distinguish explicitly between the village centre, the valley station and a shop on the mountain. Sport Nenner Talstation is at Hintertux 794, directly inside the Hintertux Glacier cable-car station. Other Nenner branches are at Sommerberg and Tuxer Fernerhaus. Choose the valley shop if you want to try on boots before your first cable-car ride. Collection higher up requires time for both the ascent and fitting before your lesson. A booking simply labelled “Hintertux” does not resolve that practical question. Save the confirmed branch address together with your reservation number.
Opening hours and returns
Sport Nenner’s current branch directory lists the valley shop as open Monday to Sunday, 08:00–17:00. These details were checked on 24 October 2026. Other branches may operate different hours; a mountain shop’s opening should not be assumed to match general lift operation. Have the latest return time and your preferred return location confirmed when reserving. On your final day, schedule the journey back down before returning the equipment, rather than arranging both for the same time.
Compare published prices correctly
Nenner’s undated price list quotes €48 per day for the Basic set and €74 for the Premium set, including skis, boots and poles. A set for children aged five to ten is listed at €20. Checked on 24 October 2026, these are examples rather than confirmed seasonal prices for every travel date or resort-wide averages. Ask for the total for your rental period and the conditions for helmets and storage. If you bring your own boots, do not compare a ski-only quote directly with a complete set.
Planning the first morning with children
Confirm the ski school’s exact meeting point before booking equipment. For a lesson on the mountain, children and the accompanying adult need enough time for boots, access to the lift and the ascent. Note each child’s height, shoe size and experience; the final selection takes place during fitting. Also establish where normal footwear and extra clothing can be left. Storage is particularly useful when you will use the same access point the following day. If your plans change between days, check that the stored equipment can be reached in time.
Getting there and day parking
Drive via the A12, take the Zillertal exit, then continue through the Zillertal valley to Hintertux. Without a car, travel through Jenbach, take the Zillertalbahn to Mayrhofen and continue by scheduled bus to Hintertux. The glacier operator lists free outdoor and garage parking at the valley station between 08:00 and 17:00; charging spaces incur a charge. These are day-parking facilities. Coordinate your parking period, equipment return and bus departure, and check current connections and lift operation before setting off. When arriving with luggage, set a clear sequence: visit the confirmed branch first, then follow the route to the appropriate lift. Also note which shoes you need for the journey home and where they will stay during the ski day. This avoids some family members waiting at the bus while the remaining belongings are still at another location.
