Town centre or lift base
In Zell am See, choose your ski-area entrance before choosing the rental shop. SPORT2000 Areit, Flugplatzstraße 16, is at the Areitbahn base. INTERSPORT Scholz, Bahnhofstraße 13, is another specific option for collection in town. Do not rely only on the resort name in the booking form. A shop at your chosen lift may be more convenient for exchanging equipment during the day, while a central shop may fit your arrival route better. Check the entire route from accommodation to rental shop and onwards to the lesson. Include the precise branch in your own travel plan.
Verified hours and costs
INTERSPORT Scholz publishes Monday–Saturday 8:30–18:00 and Sunday 8:30–12:00 plus 16:00–18:00 for 21 December 2026–4 April 2027, excluding special dates. The Sunday closure matters particularly on arrival day. SPORT2000’s 2026/27 tariff lists adult skis, boots and poles at €49–61 daily. Checked 24 October 2026. These are SPORT2000 prices, not Scholz prices. Request a total for your dates and appropriate category from the selected shop. A lower price for skis alone cannot be compared directly with a complete package. Decide which extras you actually need before confirming the basket.
Making family arrangements easier
The best family collection point depends on the lesson meeting place. Confirm whether it is in the valley or requires a lift ride first. Schedule fitting accordingly rather than allowing only the travel time between two addresses. Children need time to put boots on and mention pressure points. Enter age, height and experience separately for every family member. Also ask whether any exchange must take place at the original branch. If parents and children start in different places, a coordinated afternoon return plan may be more useful than a shared booking without clear arrangements.
Travel and parking
According to the operator, cityXpress has no parking immediately at the lift; areitXpress has both free parking areas and paid sections. Read the signs at the space you actually choose rather than treating the lift name as a guarantee of free parking. Central accommodation may also make rail travel convenient; check the connection and walking route yourself. For ski buses, the route and your ticket entitlement must match. Keep your confirmation easy to find, with branch name, rental period and return conditions visible. On departure day, ask explicitly about the latest return time. Leave enough time before reaching your train or car so missing poles or mixed-up boots do not become a last-minute problem. Resolve remaining questions with the shop before travelling so the confirmation fits your plans.
